- About us
At noon on October 26th, the long-awaited "2023 Suzhou Good-Ark Poetry Conference" was held in the Moral Lecture Hall at the company headquarters. We appreciate the beauty of poetry and trace the roots of culture. Let us revisit the rich and splendid Chinese poetry, carry forward traditional Chinese culture, draw wisdom from it, cultivate our temperament and nourish our souls.
The exciting quiz session is about to begin! Six teams took part in this poetry conference. Seeing how focused and confident everyone was, we can feel the contestants’ determination to achieve good results!
▌Poetry Solitaire
A line of poetry was displayed on the big screen. Contestants earned 10 points for reciting the next line correctly and lost points for wrong answers. As the competition went on, a profound journey through classical culture unfolded quietly. "I have long heard of Dongting Lake; now I climb Yueyang Tower." The concise verses depict magnificent scenery and extraordinary bearing. "After fresh rain in mountains bare, autumn permeates evening air." The mountains washed by rain, lush trees and renewed nature present a tranquil and beautiful autumn view that captivates everyone... Every time we appreciate the wisdom and sentiments of ancient poets, we gain unique insights.
▌Race Against Time
This was a quick-response round. Contestants needed to answer the author, dynasty or title of the given poem. The contestants immediately turned serious, resting their hands lightly on the buzzers, waiting for the signal "Start!" after each question. Every buzzer race was a silent contest. Those who snatched the chance rejoiced; those who missed it sighed. After calming down, they refocused and prepared more carefully for the next opportunity.
▌Sharp Eyes
This was also a quick-response round. Each team appointed one representative to restore scrambled poetry lines. After the question appeared, contestants took time to think carefully and confirmed their answers before buzzing in, acting only after careful planning. "The lonely sail is fading away into the blue sky; only the Yangtze River flows toward the horizon." "A stretch of sunset spills over the river; half the ripples are emerald and half crimson." Reading these familiar, well-loved verses from childhood again brings new feelings and insights.
▌Poetry Matching
Each team picked questions and assigned other teams to answer. Some assigned contestants answered calmly and accurately, winning warm applause. Some were uncertain and regretted not learning more carefully before. The score gap widened and the competition reached a white-hot stage.
▌Spot the Mistake in Poetry
Contestants needed to find and correct errors in given poems. This round tested how well they knew the verses. Some mistakes were easy to spot while others were quite hidden. Even though the contestants took great care, mistakes still occurred.
Several quick-response questions were specially prepared for the audience. The serious atmosphere turned lively and joyful immediately. Our family members took an active part, standing up eagerly to answer. At times, multiple family members stood up at once to shout out their answers. Everyone laughed freely and enjoyed this relaxing moment.
Remarks from the Elders:
The competition rounds are over and the final results are about to be announced. Those with good results should not be conceited, and others should not be discouraged. What matters most is what you have learned and gained through participation.
After five intense rounds, the winners of the first, second and third prizes were decided. Let’s applaud all contestants!
