On October 20, light drizzle could not hold back the volunteers’ loving footsteps. They arrived early at the resettlement temporary housing site for the publicity event “On the Road of Environmental Protection, Enzyme Walks With Us”, organised by the Zhongzhen, Zhongshi and Gongcheng Branches.

The eco‑enzyme carefully prepared by branch members four months earlier was ready to be opened that day. Eager to see the fruits of their labour, they gently lifted the lids of the sealed buckets. Their efforts paid off; the enzyme fermented perfectly and released a fresh, inviting fragrance. Afterwards, the finished enzyme was bottled for everyone to take home.

Made from fruit peels, eco‑enzyme turns waste into treasure and reduces rubbish. It also works as a natural cleaner and fertiliser. Volunteers patiently explained its production and usage to the elderly: eco‑enzyme helps remove pesticide residues from fruits and vegetables and purifies drains, with a wide range of practical uses.

Eco‑enzyme benefits soil improvement and boosts plant growth. On site, they showed the grandparents how to use it. The enzyme residue fertiliser can be applied in small vegetable plots to improve soil quality, curb pests and help vegetables thrive naturally for safe, healthy meals.

Eco‑enzyme has quietly woven itself into daily life. Branch members use their homemade enzyme to clean restrooms and unclog drains for an eco‑friendly clean. Adding it while wiping windows and floors also brings wonderful results.

At every household, volunteers chatted warmly with the elders, handed out fruit and pastries, and asked carefully about their health. The elders expressed sincere gratitude for the care from the Good‑Ark big family.

Aunt Xue from Lianxin Homeland lives here. Everyone happily gave her place a thorough spring clean: some swept floors, some tidied tables and others wiped windows to create a neat and comfortable space. They also brought a sphygmomanometer to check her blood pressure and reminded her to take good care of herself, avoid overwork and rest more.

By turning fruit peels into treasure and cutting down the use of chemical products, we foster an atmosphere where everyone joins in green action. Let us cherish our home together and lighten the burden on Mother Earth.
