On September 17, Good‑Ark Suzhou volunteers jointly organised an environmental protection hike in Shushan during the weekend.

Since it was the weekend, some family members brought their children along. The little ones made the event lively and colourful, carrying special significance for passing on environmental awareness.

During the environmental quiz session, the children were lively and quick to raise their hands, just like little sprites. It shows that environmental protection has taken deep root in people’s hearts, and the blossoms of civility are blooming everywhere. Environmental protection is everyone’s duty. We should be mindful not to litter fruit peels, discard rubbish casually, spit anywhere or trample on lawns, and live in harmony with nature.

Seeing their parents cleaning up the mountain, the children offered to help. Some volunteered to take the lead with rubbish bags, hurrying to pick up litter wherever they spotted it: cigarette butts and packs, plastic bags and bottles, scraps of paper and rotten wood. Wherever they went, they formed a beautiful sight, surrounded by lush greenery that brought peace to the heart.

This event used handmade reusable bags made from recycled materials. Every stitch embodied the sincere care of our family members. We avoid generating new waste while collecting litter to reduce the burden on our planet. By cherishing the surrounding ecosystem and valuing environmental protection, we can make the sky bluer, clouds lighter, waters clearer and Shushan even more beautiful.
