The Zhongyuan Festival, also known as the Half‑Seventh Moon, is a time for folk ancestor worship. As a traditional cultural festival for remembering forebears, its core value lies in respecting ancestors and practising filial piety. Through devout sacrificial rites, people express their longing for those who have passed. It reminds us where we come from, helps us understand our heritage and clarifies the path ahead: never forget our ancestors, stay kind, and make the most of our lives.

On August 30, the Senior Leader, General Manager Teng and other company executives led deputy managers and above, branch secretaries, humanities education team leaders, together with representatives from Jiangsu Minglun Yuan and Jiangsu Shengyang Xiang, to hold the grand 2023 Zhongyuan Ancestor Worship Ceremony at Mingde Hall of the main factory.

The drum rolled three times. Heavy and resonant, the drumbeats grew more sacred within the solemn atmosphere.

Filial piety is the root of all virtues, the source of all education, and the core value sustaining the Chinese nation’s cultural heritage for thousands of years. As the chief officiant, the Senior Leader presented the first, second and final offerings to the ancestors with sincere, reverent and grateful hearts.

All family members held their breath and performed the three kneelings and nine prostrations with sincere hearts, conveying profound respect for the ancestors.

What is Family Culture? It means treating every machine, every product and every person as one’s own child. Even the tables and chairs around us are regarded as members of our family. At its heart, Family Culture is true love and education. “To build a nation and guide its people, education comes first.” We shall continue promoting the learning of traditional Chinese culture and let Family Culture take firm root within the company.

Sacrifice and prayer are not merely cultural customs that pass down filial piety; they also connect the spiritual bond of the clan, carrying unique insights and experiences of life.

Ancestor worship is returning to one’s roots. Deep roots make flourishing branches. To remember our origin and repay kindness keeps us grounded and paves the way for a blessed life.
