Start of Autumn is the 13th solar term among the Twenty-Four Solar Terms and the first solar term of autumn. As summer fades from the clouds and rustling leaves announce autumn, may everyone reap all beautiful blessings this autumn.

On the day of Start of Autumn, each branch held activities at the Mingde Hall and the Moral Lecture Hall to celebrate this solar term that symbolises harvest. Wonderful videos introduced the meaning, customs, climatic features and wellness practices of Start of Autumn. Participants also learned how to adjust diet, rest and exercise to maintain physical and mental balance and health in this season.

We took children outdoors to discover autumn fruits. Through hands-on picking, they experienced the joy of harvest. Tasting sweet fruits and happily sharing their favourites, they seemed to grow up amid the orchard of this season.

With watermelons served, we embraced the custom of “biting autumn”. The bright red fruit exudes an inviting sweet aroma. Everyone laughed while biting into the juicy flesh, savouring the unique coolness and contentment brought by Start of Autumn. This heartwarming tradition invites us to reflect on the passage of time and cherish the present moments and precious gift of life.

Family members set off on a wonderful DIY journey themed on autumn leaves. Each golden leaf carries the magic of nature and sparks boundless creativity. Gently tracing the veins with fingertips, we turned them into unique handcrafts. Immersed in creation, everyone wove and pasted leaves with skill, endowing them with new life and meaning.

We were honoured that Chairman Wu, our senior leader, also came to the event and shared warm reminders: as autumn arrives, drink plenty of water to replenish moisture for the body and reduce discomforts such as dizziness and fatigue.

Before we knew it, the event drew to a close. Fueled by rich creativity, everyone not only gained insight into the culture of Start of Autumn, but also deeply experienced the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. We feel sincerely blessed to live and work surrounded by the warm family culture of Good‑Ark.
