Company Safety Month Series Activities

This June marked the 22nd National Work Safety Month. Centered on the theme “Everyone Talks about Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response”, the company rolled out a rich array of activities, including safety commitment signing, safety regulation briefings, emergency evacuation drills and fire extinguisher operation training. These initiatives help Good‑Ark family members further consolidate the safety red line and reinforce the foundation of workplace safety.

Our senior leader stressed that nothing matters without safety; everything else becomes zero. We must raise our safety awareness, stay vigilant at all times in work and daily life, and prevent hazards before they arise.

During the safety quiz session, Director Xie encouraged contestants to achieve good results and apply their safety knowledge to safeguard a harmonious workplace and happy family life.

For the full‑staff fire evacuation drill, Director Xie Lei of EHS and Manager Zhang Jian from the Energy Management Department served as on‑site commanders, while staff from the Energy Management Department and Administration acted as safety officers. To simulate a real emergency, no advance notice of the exact starting time was given.

Early in the morning, the drill officially began with a shrill alarm. Everyone moved swiftly along corridors and staircases through all emergency exits, leaving the Ren’ai Building in an orderly manner for the assembly point. Participants followed standard fire escape procedures throughout the evacuation, demonstrating solid fire safety literacy.

Safety officers then inspected workshops, offices and the canteen. Wang Xiaoxia, Supervisor of the QFN team, reported that one family member was “injured” and trapped inside. A rescue team of three safety officers was dispatched immediately; they carried the simulated casualty out on a stretcher to the designated assembly area.

After headcounts from all departments were submitted to Director Xie Lei, the report confirmed: from the alarm to full assembly, the drill took 4 minutes and 15 seconds. All 485 expected personnel were accounted for, with no one left behind.

Participants then entered the fire escape experience chamber to simulate escaping from a burning building. Inside, artificial smoke filled the space. Family members covered their noses and mouths with towels and advanced low to the ground. Upon successfully exiting, many felt as if they had survived a real fire, gaining a deeper understanding of the dangers of fire emergencies. When sudden disasters strike, we must stay calm, adopt correct escape methods and maximise our chances of survival.

Under professional instruction, family members learned cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). For an adult patient who is unresponsive and not breathing normally, chest compressions should start right away. The rescuer’s palms must remain on the patient’s chest wall, allowing full chest recoil, while minimising interruptions to compressions.

After 30 chest compressions, the airway can be opened using the head‑tilt chin‑lift or jaw‑thrust technique before rescue breaths are given. Everyone took turns practising, refining each step to meet standards so they may help others if emergencies arise in the future.

Guided by safety officers, the group received training on fire extinguishers and fire hoses. Every safety skill mastered improves the likelihood of safe escape and strengthens our protection against hazards. It also reminds us to stay prepared for danger in times of peace and keep the safety alarm ringing.

The evacuation drill and fire safety training concluded amid warm applause. This activity raised awareness of fire prevention and self‑rescue capabilities, built practical firefighting skills, and brought the whole event to a successful close.
