On April 27, the Party General Branch of Xinjie Community in Tong'an Town, Suzhou New District, together with the Company’s Party Branch and Youth League Committee, jointly hosted a May Fourth Youth Day knowledge contest at the Youth Home of Xinjie Community.

Leaders from both sides attached great importance to this event and came to the site to offer guidance and serve as judges, including Yu Chunming, Secretary of the Party General Branch of Xinjie Community; Zhang Jian, Secretary of the Company’s Party Branch; Wu Aiping, Party Affairs Officer; Ke Zhonghui, Member of the Party Branch and Secretary of the Youth League Committee, among others.

The event opened with a video introducing the origin of May Fourth Youth Day, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the May Fourth Spirit — the patriotic spirit against imperialism and feudalism. The May Fourth Movement has been recorded as a glorious chapter in the history of the Chinese nation. We today should carry forward the aspirations and hopes of our predecessors, keep our missions firmly in mind and forge ahead with resolve!

Then came the thrilling knowledge contest! A total of six teams took part. All contestants looked confident and well-prepared.

In the required-answer round, the teams maintained high accuracy with steady poise. The atmosphere heated up quickly once the buzzer round began.

As soon as the host finished reading each question, every contestant kept their eyes fixed on the buzzer, anxious not to miss their chance. The venue was filled with tense yet competitive energy. At the cue “Start!”, everyone raced to press their buzzer first. Every grab for a question was breathtaking.

The risk round brought even more suspense, with questions worth 10, 20 and 30 points respectively. Teams earned points for correct answers and lost points for wrong ones. Some teams played safe by choosing 10-point questions, while others boldly went straight for the 30-point challenges. These vastly different strategies made the competition far more engaging.

After several intense rounds, the contest drew to a close and the winners of the first, second and third prizes were announced.

Participants joined in Xinjie Civilization Practice activities to contribute to a beautiful community with practical actions.

Secretary Zhang remarked that gathering today at Xinjie Community of Tong’an Town for this knowledge contest allowed everyone to revisit the history of the May Fourth Movement. It inspires us to shoulder our missions, carry forward the May Fourth Spirit and strive to be promising young people. He hoped this would kindle everyone’s passion for learning and mark a fresh starting point.
