- About us
On this festival steeped in millennia‑old heritage, let us follow the sweet fragrance of bamboo leaves and revisit those touching moments of cultural charm and human warmth during the Dragon Boat Festival.
Blessings in Calamus and Mugwort
“Hold mugwort flags to draw blessings; hang calamus swords to ward off evil.” Calamus and mugwort symbolise repelling pests and misfortune for a safe and peaceful home. The natural setting of the Happiness Farm offers ideal conditions for them to thrive.
On May 27, the Happiness Farm brimmed with greenery, with lush stretches of calamus and mugwort. Filled with enthusiasm, Good‑Ark family members moved among the plants with sickles. With quick, steady cuts, they soon gathered large bundles of fragrant calamus and mugwort.
Everyone then carefully trimmed and tied the plants into neat bunches with string. These heartfelt bundles were hung around the factory grounds. As the breeze stirred the leaves, their soothing scent drifted through the air, carrying sincere affection and blessings.
Every Stitch Tells a Story of Care
On May 28, a heartwarming handmade sachet workshop got underway. More than just a Dragon Boat Festival tradition, scented sachets carry deep wishes for family and friends.
Needles, thread, fabric and spices were laid out neatly at the venue. Everyone sat together, threading needles and sewing gently. Some worked deftly, finishing delicate little sachets in no time; others tried it for the first time, less practised but utterly focused.
“Leave a small opening here to put the spices in...” Participants shared tips amid constant laughter. As one tiny lovely sachet after another was completed, smiles of satisfaction lit up every face. Some sachets would go to loved ones, while others would raise funds for charity. Every stitch embodied sincere goodwill.
A warm sachet charity sale was held shortly before the festival. Good‑Ark family members picked their favourite sachets, sending blessings to relatives and friends while contributing to good causes. The sachets have a price, yet kindness is priceless. Every act of charity shines a light to warm both others and oneself.
A Timeless Taste Passed Down for Millennia
How could the Dragon Boat Festival be complete without zongzi?
Fold the leaves, add fillings, wrap and tie... These seemingly simple steps demand plenty of patience and skill. Good‑Ark family members learned from one another. Some wrapped neat, angular zongzi while others worked in a more relaxed style. Whatever their shape, every rice dumpling carried deep affection.
“Don’t overfill it, or the filling will leak out!”
“Right, squeeze it tight so it won’t fall apart while boiling.”
Amid cheerful chatter and eager learning, plump zongzi took shape. Once cooked, they would be shared among Good‑Ark colleagues, letting everyone taste the delicacy and feel the warmth of the festival.
As an indispensable treat for the Dragon Boat Festival, zongzi embodies the profound history and cultural memory of the Chinese nation. Each rice dumpling is like a tiny time capsule, preserving the wisdom and sentiments of ancient people while conveying reverence for traditions passed onward.
Pass on Love, Enjoy Surprises
On May 30, the Happiness Restaurant turned into a Dragon Boat Festival fun zone! Lucky draw with surprise zongzi brought endless excitement. When collecting their rice dumplings, those lucky enough to draw the “yolk surprise zongzi” could redeem an exquisite small gift at the prize counter. Surprises hidden inside zongzi, joy written all over smiling faces!
“One more try! So close!” The ring‑toss booth buzzed with excitement. Each participant got three chances; a successful toss won colourful cords or nut snacks. Everyone tried their best, and even those who missed revelled in the fun.
Talented university candidates interviewing at our company also joined in. Their youthful grins and energy added extra sparkle to the celebration. May this joy and warmth stay with us always; may happiness and peace dwell in our hearts, and may youthful dreams take root and flourish here!
