Watermelon Party, Awakening the Earth
2025-07-10  View:2138

On July 8, a joyful and creative "Watermelon Party" took place in the dining hall on the third floor of Ren’ai Building. With the crisp sound of splitting melons and the fermenting magic of eco-enzyme, Good‑Ark colleagues enjoyed a seed-picking and watermelon-eating contest, turning summer sweetness into a lively lesson for green living.

I. Speed Challenge for Fingers and Taste Buds

The competition was divided into men’s and women’s groups with fun rules: participants needed to pick out exactly ten seeds from the watermelon flesh using a toothpick within the time limit, then finish the slice as quickly as possible.

Look! Our Good‑Ark family moved their fingers nimbly, handling toothpicks smoothly between thumb and forefinger. The plucked seeds fell onto plates with crisp tapping sounds. Then came the eating round. Juicy watermelon glistened as if still carrying morning dew, filling the air with sweet aroma. The contestants ate eagerly, drawing bursts of laughter all around.

At last, ten “Speed Champions” and ten winners of Lucky Prizes were selected for each group amid cheers. This lively contest quietly strengthened team spirit amid sweet watermelon juice.

II. A New Eco‑Life for Watermelon Rinds

When the eating contest ended, another “green revolution” began. All watermelon rinds were collected. Following the golden ratio of 1 part brown sugar : 3 parts rinds : 10 parts water, the ingredients were placed into plastic containers, leaving 20% empty space to prevent gas buildup. The containers were opened daily for venting and stirring. These rinds, which would otherwise become kitchen waste, were transformed into versatile eco-enzyme with the power of time.

Later, this eco-enzyme will be used in offices and restrooms as an alternative to chemical cleaners. It helps cut procurement costs and protects the environment by natural means. Even the filtered enzyme residue goes into the company’s Happy Farm to feed crops, truly achieving zero waste.

III. From Nature’s Gift to Eco Helper

Did you know? Our homemade fruit and vegetable enzyme carries a fresh, mild sour aroma once fermented. Transparent liquid drips through gauze during filtration; every drop embodies gifts from nature. When these “green cleaners” are poured into bottles and enzyme residue nourishes crops in soil, we realise environmental protection is no distant slogan, but accessible wisdom for daily life. Every step awakens our planet.

From focused seed picking and joyful melon eating, to careful enzyme making and thoughtful resource recycling, this event formed a complete chain: pick seeds, eat watermelon, brew enzyme and apply enzyme. It integrated the philosophy of “learning through fun and green development” into summer days. Colleagues felt the warmth of the team amid laughter, understood the meaning of environmental protection through practice, and witnessed the beautiful connection between corporate social responsibility and ecological progress.

IV. Caring for Children: Passing on Happiness

Children from the Good‑Ark Loving Garden Summer Care Program skipped cheerfully into the Watermelon Party, excitement shining on their little faces. The kids held slices and bit heartily, not bothering to wipe juice running down their cheeks. Cheers rose one after another. Their pure smiles were as sweet as summer watermelon, filling the whole venue with warmth and delight.

This summer, let us carry forward the sweetness of watermelon and the warmth of enzyme‑making, turning environmental care into an everyday habit. Perhaps next time, you can start your own “eco-awakening” experiment at home with fruit peels, so that the magic of green living spreads from your fingertips to every corner.
