The Dragon Boat Festival arrives in midsummer, with wormwood wafting and zongzi fragrance lingering. On the eve of the festival, Good-Ark family enjoyed a splendid cultural feast — from picking wormwood in the fields to sewing sachets by hand, from fun challenge games in the canteen to warm condolences from the trade union... Traditional customs and our family culture blend and thrive together here.

I. Picking Wormwood in the Fields, Crafting Gifts for Blessings of Good Health

Our family members hand-picked dewy wormwood and calamus. Fresh herbal scents filled the air. During the picking, senior colleagues shared the traditional origin of hanging wormwood and calamus for warding off evil and welcoming good fortune, letting everyone experience the cultural heritage of this traditional festival up close. Many young family members remarked that harvesting the plants themselves brought more ritual and meaning than merely hearing about the customs.

Everyone immersed themselves in DIY activities: painting round fans and sewing fragrant sachets. They painted elegant Dragon Boat Festival patterns such as ink bamboo and orchids, and stitched sachets thread by thread, filling them with natural aromatics including wormwood, clove and mint. Ingenuity flows from fingertips, and affection is carried by brushstrokes. Exquisite, one-of-a-kind handcrafted works took shape as exclusive Dragon Boat Festival keepsakes, preserving sincere wishes for peace and good fortune.

II. Zongzi Leaves Convey Affection, Warm Care for the Elderly

No Dragon Boat Festival is complete without zongzi. At the Good-Ark Sunshine Care Center, elderly neighbors from surrounding communities and volunteers gathered together, with glutinous rice, red beans, candied jujubes and bamboo leaves neatly arranged. “First roll the leaf into a funnel shape, then fill it with rice…” Volunteers and elders started making zongzi with smiles. Some worked skillfully, quickly forming angular zongzi; others tried it for the first time and fumbled while tying the strings, sparking bursts of laughter. This exchange platform built around custom experiences not only boosted interactions among elderly neighbors, but also let the younger generation revisit the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival through companionship.

III. Fun Festival Games in the Canteen, Joyful Competitions Bring Warmth

The Ren’ai Building canteen turned into a Dragon Boat Festival theme park, hosting a series of fun competitions to help family members release fatigue from daily desk work.

Land Dragon Boat Race

The land dragon boat race was quite challenging. Teams of two or three members fixed their feet on wooden boards and competed head-to-head. With synchronized steps and tacit coordination, they demonstrated strong teamwork. The first team to reach the finish line won the challenge, accompanied by constant cheers and applause.

Zongzi Fishing

Long queues formed at the zongzi fishing stall. Participants held mini fishing rods, held their breath and adjusted angles carefully. Great joy came with each successful catch.

Dragon Horn Ring Toss

The dragon horn ring toss game was equally popular. Participants stood steady, aimed and threw. Every successful toss drew cheers. These diverse fun activities strengthened bonds and brought joy to everyone through interaction and teamwork.

Rolling Good Luck

After the fun games wrapped up, the much-anticipated prize redemption session arrived. The “Rolling Good Luck” redemption opened officially. Family members spun the lucky wheel one by one and claimed matching gifts according to the result. Every spin carried expectations, laughter filled the venue, and these delicate gifts embodied the company’s sincere care and blessings for every family member.

IV. Three Warm Gifts for a Heartfelt Festival

Zongzi Gift Box

Warmth travels with the festival. The company trade union prepared exquisite Dragon Boat Festival zongzi gift boxes for every member in advance. Filled with festive aroma, these gifts carry best wishes for all family members and their families, wishing everyone health and happiness together.

Professional Physiotherapy

Meanwhile, professional therapists from the Good-Ark Physiotherapy Clinic were on site to provide conditioning and relief for shoulder-neck strain and sub-health issues, helping family members relax and ease fatigue.

Convenient Financial Services

The customer service team from China Merchants Bank was also present to answer questions about bank card usage and wealth management consultations face-to-face, with a surprise lucky draw. “I never expected to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival at work with games, gifts and free physiotherapy. It’s so thoughtful!” said one senior employee with a thumbs-up.

V. Cultural Heritage Nourishes Hearts, We March Forward Together with Our Family Spirit

The Dragon Boat Festival carries millennia-old cultural heritage; sincere warmth binds the Good-Ark family. Through this themed event, our family members collaborated in games, cared for elders in companionship and felt warmth from thoughtful support. Traditional culture is no longer merely words in books, but tangible warmth amid laughter.
